Looking back over 2011 - The final part of our four part series

1-2. .FTC - Vidi was the match of the weekend with Videoton securing a 1-0 away win at the Albert Stadium. A first half Andre Alves header was enough to split the two teams.

12.    A goal towards the end of the league cup match with Honved from Walter-Lee rescues a point for the red and blues of Fehervar.

26.    Videoton progress to the next round of the Hungarian cup with a professional 2-0 away win at nearby Tatabanya.

29.    Vidi produce a good second half show to pick up a priceless 3-2 win at Papa. Alves comes off the substitutes bench to score two late goals. The winner comes from Nikolics who lobs the keeper to collect all three points. 

31.    Albert Flórián passes away. He was the only ever Hungarian footballer to pick up the golden boot award.

6.      Nikolics is the hero after coming on as a second half sub to see of Ujpest. The visitors goalkeeper performs heroics to deny Videoton, with Ujpest eventually suffer a 3-0 defeat.

9.      Alves is in top form having scored nine goals, and assisted in a further five so far.

10.    Yet another 4-2 league cup win over second division Gyirmot. A double from Nikolics and Vasziljevics helps Vidi to top the group.

11.    Hungary produce a confident display in their 5-0 home friendly win over Liechtenstein. The national side included Akos Elek on the subs bench.

12.    Toth Balazs is pleased with the conditions and facilities on offer at Vidi since returning to play his football in Hungary, following a lengthy spell away in Belgium.

15.    Elek sets up Hungary's goal away in the friendly match in Poland, despite ending up losing 2-1.

16.    The final group match of the league cup sees Vidi and MTK share a 0-0 draw at the Sostoi.

17.    Vidi.hu pay a visit to the home of striker Nemanja Nikolics. The in form player recently became a father for the first time, and is delighted with life in general. 

19.    What a weekend! Alves scored a hatrick, while Nikolics hits a double in the 7-0 home thrashing of Siofok at the Sostoi stadium. It is the second time in four years that Vidi have hit seven!

27.    Vidi carry on their recent good form with a precious away win at Paks, who had been climbing nicely up the league table. 

27.    Vidi draw Diosgyőr in the next round of the league cup. Meanwhile they face a two-legged match with Győri ETO in the Hungarian cup. 

30.    Vidi secure a 1-0 Hungarian homeleg advantage against Haladas. Vidi do well in the first half and should have won by a larger margin.

December

3.      Vidi are made to work hard on a difficult pitch away at Haladas in the second leg of the Hungarian cup. The 0-0 draw is enough to send Vidi through into the next round.

6.      Santa Claus pays a special visit to the Sostoi stadium to hand out gifts to the gathered children..

12.    Adam Gyurcso gives an interview about his surprise at being recalled from his loan period with Kecskemet. The talented right sided midfielder will now spend the pre-season period with the first team squad of Videoton over winter.
