Debrecen increased their lead at the top of the OTP league table

Debrecren beat Győri ETO in the game of the day at the weekend. The two met in Debrecen, and it was 'Loki' who kept all three points at home. A large crowd of around 10,000 saw goals from Simac and Kulcsar in each half did the damage. Videoton were looking to close the gap on the top two, but a surprising home defeat to mid table side KTE, dealt a blow to Paulo Sousa's side. Kecskemet came out stronger in the second half and hit Vidi with two early goals in the second period. Diosgyőr is the place to be at the moment in Hungarian football when it comes to atmosphere. Another large crowd witnessed an easy 4-0 win for the the home side, DVTK, with Pecs struggling to keep up with them. Tibor Tisza hit two goals inthat game to open his account since signing for them.
Kaposvar and Honved shared four goals in an exciting game in southern Hungary. Danillo scored two first half goals for the Budapest club, but Kaposvar found a way back into the game, earning a point in the end. Paks continue to show signs of improvement, winning 3-2 at home to Haladas, in a five goal thriller. Vidi loan player Vujovics, hit one of the goals for Haladas, but it was not enough to earn a point. Paks, who finished last season as runners up, have recovered from their slow start this season. The final game on Saturday saw Siofok and Vasas, share a goaless draw, with a point not doing any favours to either club.
Sunday included two games for the two main Budapest sides. Ujpest were the first in action, emerging 4-2 winners against relegation doomed ZTE. It was the Lilacs third consecutive home match where they have managed to score four goals. Papa took the lead at home to Ferencvaros in the final game of the weekend at the Perutz stadium. However, Lajos Detari's side came back with two goals to clinch all three points, to move on to eight points, with Kaposvar now just above them at the foot of the table.
