Sandor: A two faced side will visit us on Sunday

Honved are the visitors to the Sostoi stadium on Sunday in the OTP league.

"As to exactly what type of match it will be on Sunday evening? It is difficult to give an answer, as our weekend opponents, Budapest Honved FC are a side with two faces. If they are on top of their game, then they can play really well, but they have also had matches this season, when you just could not recognize them. Another factor is which tactics their Italian manager will send his side out on to the pitch with. We know that they like to defend as an Italian side, which is closed and narrow defending. However, we must not focus on our opponents but rather on ourselves. We need to dominate and keep things calm while remaining patient. This should still apply even if the scores are 0-0 at half time. I believe, as we have shown until now, that our stamina will come through, resulting in us scoring goals towards the end of the match, but the target has to remain that we retain our 100% home record."

"It is a significant factor about our team, as we know that we have a great stamina, and there are very few sides that can keep up with us at home over 90 minutes. You can continue to concentrate and not make mistakes while you have the strength. We will grind out our opponents by keeping hold of the ball, taking the ball from one side to the other. If there is space, then we will try and build quick attacks. This tactic normally comes through in the second half of matches, as the strength of our opponents runs out by then. They do not shuffle too well by then, or one of their defenders makes a mistake. This is a totally normal thing from us. It does not really make a difference when we score goals from the winning point of view. We spend plenty of time in training on ball possession. Naturally if they close us down, we can then quickly change the tempo and hit them with quick attacks. The normal practice of visiting teams at the Sostoi stadium, is for them to come here and sit back and defend, so we have to remain patient and try to break down the opponents defence" - commented Gyorgy Sandor.
