Antal Roth's U21 side played a friendly match as part of their two day training camp at Telki. They beat first division side Lombard Papa by a single goal, thanks to a second half strike from Balajti. The goal was set up by fellow Debrecen player Bodi. The game was played in near freezing conditions at the Telki HQ, as part of Antal Roth's bid to find and gel his new U21 side, ahead of future qualifying games. The falling snow also made things hard for both teams to play good football. Videoton winger Andras Gosztonyi played the first half of this game. There are further friendlies planned in February, including a practice match with Siofok.

- I am pleased that we have began the year with a win. I thought that we played well in the first half, and our decisions were also good. We created several good chances, but the goal failed to come. However, we managed that in the second half. The aim of this two day program, including this friendly, is for the coaching staff to have a look at the many young players with a view to the future. I also want the players to get used to my expectations and the way I want the U21 side to play. - said U21 manager Antal Roth.
