The game began at a carefull pace with both teams trying to get on top of the other. It was the Chinese champions, Evergrande FC who took an early 12th minute lead. An attack, which began with Cho Wonhee on the right hand side, ended up in the middle with Cleo, who passed it on to Jiang Ning to find the net from close range. The Chinese side then began to dictate play following their opening breakthrough. Tujvel was needed more than once to keep Vidi in the match, as the keeper made some brave saves. Vidi then broke on the counter attack on 31 minutes, and Torghelle managed to score, what for him was his first goal in Vidi colours. It was a good move. which was clearly worked on during training. Tujvel was once again called upon to keep the scores level. First a Sun Xiang header needed the aware Tujvel, before saving well just on half time.

The second half began very well for Vidi. Torghelle won a penalty for the red and blues, which Evandro managed to calmly convert to put Videoton 2-1 up. The game then began to get harder with the referee forced to make several bookings. There was nothing ugly but hard tackles were flying in. Polonkai had a very good shot on goal after 59 minutes, which came back off the crossbar.
Paulo Sousa then made several substitutions with the exception of Tujvel and Szolnoki who remained on the pitch. The new players were fresh and added a new tempo to the game. Vidi were enjoying the lion's share of play at this point of the match. Gosztonyi was fouled inside the box, but the referee awarded a free kick instead. Brachi sent in a good ball, which just failed to be converted by a man in a red and blue shirt. Vidi were looking to extend their lead and make the game safe. The opposition then put everything into finding a late equaliser. They won several corners and free kicks, but the Videoton FC defence held firm. Vidi were the better side, with the exception of the first 20-25 minutes, as well as the final few moments. The win could have been even better with a touch of luck here and there, but Paulo Sousa will be satisfied with his sides second win in Spain.
Videoton FC collected third place in the Impact cup following the final whistle. They will now have a final friendly match on Monday at 16:00pm, when they face Russian giants CSZKA Moscow.
