Austrian Christopher Jäger will referee our team in the ECL 2nd leg match against Gabala

The 37-year-old referee has been a member of the FIFA squad for four years and is approaching his 100th Bundesliga match in Austria.
 

37-year-old Christopher Jäger will lead his match officials team in Thursday's UEFA Conference League qualifying second leg in Gabala.

Born on the 23rd January 1985, he first officiated a top-flight match in Austria in March 2015 and has been a member of the FIFA refereeing team since 2018. In recent seasons, he has officiated on the international stage, including CL qualifiers, EL qualifiers, ECL qualifiers, UEFA Youth League matches and friendly matches for adult national teams. In the Austrian Bundesliga, he has refereed 91 matches.

This will be his first international match in the 2022/2023 season, he has so far officiated one Austrian league and one cup match. He last blew the whistle in UEFA international cup competitions last September, in a UEFA Youth League match between Pogon Szczecin and Deportivo la Coruna, when he gave out eight yellow cards and one red.

He will be assisted by fellow Austrians Robert Steinacher and Santino Schreiner, while Markus Hameter will be the fourth official for the match, which kicks off at 18:00 Hungarian time on Thursday.
