Six goal friendly win over Budaors on Saturday

Vidi led 1-0 at hlf time and added five more in the second period.

MOL Fehervar FC were in friendly action on Saturday morning against NB II side Budaors in Szekesfehervar. The international break meant that there was no league football but Vidi arranged the friendly game. The brand new Adidas football was used and this will be the official ball for the 2020 EC championships. Roland Juhasz was back in defence following a couple of weeks out due to injury.

The friendly began with an effort from Zsori, but the Budaorse keeper managed to save his shot from close range. Moments later and a corner ended with Futacs hitting a shot with his left foot from 16 meters, which hit the bar. Budaors had a chance at the other end through Molnar, but keeper Gundel Takacs was well placed to deal with it. The breakthrough arrived after 26 minutes when a cross on the right from Nego was converted into the back of the net from close range by Futacs (1-0). It was the visiting side that had more of the ball in the closing exchanges of the first period. Kulcsar twice made the young Vidi keeper work.

The second half started with a big chance for Zsori, which included a shot that hit the post from a tight angle. The goals then started to arrive from the 49th minute. Petryak fed Zsori with a good ball and he made no mistake to find the back of the visiting net from 9 meters after shooting between the keepers legs (2-0). A couple of minutes later and Zsori again scored to make it 3-0 from 14 meters after running through on goal.

Petryak went down the right on 60 minutes and his shot from a tight angle came back off the post. Gundel Takacs then produced a fine save 10 minutes later with the rebound falling to a defender. The resulting counter attack ended wth Hangya blasting the ball under the bar to make it 4-0.

The final 15 minutes saw Balint Szabo and Adam Halmai combine to score the fifth goal after 82 minutes. Szabo showed good skill to play his way through but Varasdi did well to save, although the rebound fell to Halmai who rolled the ball into the back of the empty net (5-0). Nego lifted the ball over the Budaors keeper who had ran out of goal, before unselfishly providing Halmai with the chance to make it 6-0. There was still time for another header that hit the post after Juhasz rose to meet a free kick.

It was a confident display from Vidi and the six goals was the difference between them and NB II side Budaors. Vidi are next in action next week at the MOL Arena Sosto with a home league game against the Puskas Academy.
