Nikola Serafimov is the new signing of MOL Fehérvár FC

The 22-year-old defender, league winner in North Macedonia, was a regular starter for Zalaegerszeg last season and has also played for his country's national team.

Nikola Serafimov was born on the 11th August 1999 in Skopje, the capital of north Macedonia. The 193 cm tall centre-back trained at the Vardar Skopje academy, making his debut in the top league of his country on loan in the autumn of the 2017/2018 season with Pelister Bitola, where he played in 3 league games, before making his first-team debut for Vardar in 2018. He spent the 2018/2019 season on loan at Bregalnica Stip, also in the first division, before returning to Vardar, where he played 12 league games in the autumn season, which saw the team win their second title. In the spring of 2020, he joined Czech club Jihlava B, before returning to his homeland in the summer to play for Akademija Pandev, where he appeared in 25 top-flight matches during the 2020/2021 season.

Following that, last summer, he was signed by Zalaegerszeg, where he was a key player for the whole season, starting 31 league games, missing only two matches due to the five yellow card suspensions, and also scoring four times as a defender. He played seven times for his country's U21 national team in European U21 qualifying matches and one friendly. For the past year he has been a regular in the senior squad for north Macedonia, making his senior debut in June this year in a Nations League match against Gibraltar, followed a week later by another NL match.

"Since I've been playing in Hungary, I've seen that Vidi is one of the biggest and strongest clubs in the country. I've played once before, as an opponent in the MOL Arena Sósto, and I experienced the great atmosphere in the stadium. I didn't think much about Vidi's offer, I wanted to move here. I would like to help the team achieve its goals, Vidi always have big ambitions in the league, and we can also compete in the European Conference League, where we want to go as far as possible and reach the group stage. I only had the chance to work with István Sallói in Zalaegerszeg for a few weeks, but I have seen that he is a good football player and a nice person, so I am happy to work with him again" - Nikola Serafimov told our website after signing his contract.

"I selected Nikola from many players in Zalaegerszeg, and from the first moment I could see his huge potential, so I have been watching his career ever since. He is constantly improving, and also made his debut in the national team, I am very happy that we managed to sign him. His particular strengths are that he is quick for his height, is very good in the air with his head and is also a goal scorer. He can and dares to play football, a combination that is very rare for a centre-back. I am confident that his development will continue uninterrupted and he will be a great asset for Vidi" - said István Sallói, the club's sporting director.
