Bartosz Grzelak: "Extra motivation can come from wanting to make the whole city proud"

Our head coach gave a longer interview to sportal.hu.

On Tuesday afternoon, some of our fans may have met our head coach Bartosz Grzelak in the city centre, who was on his way to the popular café next to the main symbol of the city to give an interview to sportal.hu journalists. The editors of the site asked the Polish-born Swedish coach about his career so far and his experience in Fehérvár, and also discussed last week's Alba-Falco basketball match.

Since his appointment he has been living in Székesfehérvár, and last weekend he appeared at the Alba Fehérvár game. Why do you think it is important for you to get to know the city and the environment that surrounds it?

On the one hand, because as the coach of the local team you represent not only the club but also the city. That's why I try to get to know Székesfehérvár as much as possible, to spend as much time as possible in the city. You can get extra motivation from wanting to make the whole city proud, not just the football fans. I am confident that in time we will be able to fill the stadium and in time our home games will become the most important programme in the life of the city. It would be a great pleasure to have the whole town behind the team. One day I will leave, that's the life of a coach, but I trust that on that day Fehérvár will be in a better position than when I came here. Not only in the table, but as a club. That would be the greatest joy.
