MOL Fehervar FC will travel out to Köln this week to face the German first division side in the first of the two-legged matches. The return match will take place in Hungary on the 25th August.
MOL Fehervar FC travel out to Germany on Wednesday to face 1. FC Köln on Thursday evening. The UEFA Conference league, play-off, 1st leg game will kick off at 20:30pm at the Rhein Energie Stadion in Cologne. Vidi made it through to the 3rd round after beating Azerbaijan side Gabala SC 5-3 on aggregate following a 4-1 home win in the first leg in Hungary. That was followed by a 1-2 defeat in the second leg in Gabala.
Moldovan side FC Petrocub Hîncești awaited Vidi in the third round and once again the red and blues took a good lead from the first leg into the return fixture. Petrocub were beaten 5-0 in Szekesfehervar in the home leg, which was played on the 4th August. The play-off's were confirmed with a secure 2-1 away win in Moldova last Thursday. That gave Vidi a 7-1 aggregate win and a two-legged tie against 1. FC Köln, who enter the competition at the play-off stage.
A good crowd is expected for the first leg in Cologne on Thursday 18th August with many travelling from Hungary to support their side. Vidi will be looking for a tight match to take into the second leg on the 25th August at the MOL Arena Sosto. The prize for going through would be a place in the Group Stage of the UEFA Conference League.
