Henning Berg: Things were fine for the first friendly game

The two managers shared their thoughts on Wednesday's friendly match in Dubai.

Henning Berg:

"I am pleased that all of the fit players got the chance to play. We tried out several formations so things were fine as the first friendly game. It is positive that we managed to end the training camp here with this result. It is true that we will have one training session tomorrow before we head home. So it is not totally over yet. If we look at things realistically, then Zenit are a stronger side than us. I am pleased to have seen the players give a performance against such a serious team. I am also satisfied with the attitude shown by the youngsters. They played confidently and it looked like they enjoyed themselves and get the chance to play against a team like this. They tried to deliver what we asked of them. The formation during that part of the game suited them. Bevardi showed good movement leading up to the penalty and it was a clear spot kick. Generally these types of penalties do go in, but not we were unlucky. However, the result was not the most important today."

Mircea Lucescu:

"I was not satisfied with our performance in the first half, but it was a good training session for us. We managed to face a higher level quality opponent and Vidi's defence was well organised. You could see that there was a bit of tiredness in our game. I gave those players the chance towards the end that have had limited match time in the training camp."
