No goals in friendly game with Piast Gliwice

There were no goals in Wednesday's second pre-season friendly match at the Pancho Arena.

Videoton played their second pre-season match against Piast Gliwice, who finished second in the Polish league last season. The game was played behind closed doors at the Pancho Arena in Felcsut.

Henning Berg started the following side on Wednesday evening: Kovácsik - Nego, Vinícius, Fejes, Szolnoki - Barczi, Pátkai, Simon, Bódi - Suljic, Géresi. The weather was very warm in a well natured friendly.

It was the visiting side that had the first chance on 9 minutes. Mraz hit a powerful shot, which went wide of the post. Barisic then found himself with a good chance on goal a couple of minutes later. His low shot brought out a good save from keeper Kovacsik. Bodi had two free kicks around the 20 minute mark, although neither really troubled the Polish goal. Barisic again tested Kovacsik after 29 minutes with a low strike. The action continued with Barczi playing Suljic through, but the left foot shot from 18 metres went wide of the post. Half time saw both Bodi and Suljic linking up from 8 meters, which keeper Dobo was equal to.

Piast changed their side at half time while Vidi remained with the same side. Bodi's corner almost went in off Fejes after 50 minutes. However, the Polish keeper went down well to keep the score at 0-0. Geresi turned on goal after 58 minutes, before his left foot shot was well saved by keeper Szmatula. Patkai almost headed a 77 minute Nego far post cross, but the defender was able to clear the danger. Oliveira had time with 5 minutes remaining to hit a high free kick towards the Polish goal. However, a defender was on hand to head the danger away, but Nego hit the resulting shot from 16 meters, which found Vinicius and keeper Szmatula did very well on his goal line.

Feczesin ended the game with a shot, which went just wide of the target. There were no goals and Vidi will next be in action on Thursday evening, when they travel to Slovenia to face NK Zavrc. That game will kick off at 17:00pm.
