Videoton suffered a 3-1 home defeat to the league leaders on Saturday evening.
Saturday's OTP Bank league match saw Ferencvaros visit Szekesfehervar. The Budapest club went out of the Europa League fairly quickly but have made a very good start in the league. They went in to the match with 9 points from 3 league games.
It was the visitors that began the match on the front foot. Varga was released on 3 minutes, but his shot was blocked by Szolnoki. Lamah then had another good chance a minute later. His effort rebounded off a defender and went wide. The 11th minute resulted in an unfortunate own goal that is rarely witnessed in football. Danilovics raced out to try and clear the ball, but it ended up rebounding off defender Heffler and into the back of the net (0-1). It was the green and whites that dominated in the minutes that followed. Lamah went down the wing on 25 minutes, before sending in a low cross for the arriving Varga to shoot over from close range. Vidi were reduced to 10 men on 36 minutes when referee Ando Szabo produced a yellow card to Vinicius. That quickly turned into a red card after he complained to the match official and the defender headed for the tunnel.
A Hajnal cross was headed over by Gera as the action continued. Varga just failed to connect with a Raminez ball in from the left. That was another big chance for the visiting side. Vidi could have levelled on half time when Ivanovski showed good skill down the left, before shooting and bringing a good save out of Dibusz.
Bernard Casoni replaced Soumah with Feczesin at half time. It was a welcome return for the striker who had suffered with an injury in the weeks leading up to this game. Vidi started the half well and found the equalizer while being a man down. Ivanovski found Szolnoki on the left, who then played the ball in to the middle, which was kicked out by Dibusz. Ivanovski was well placed to half volley the ball home. (1-1). Vidi could not be pleased for too long as Ferencvaros went ahead for the second time on 57 minutes. Varga passed to Hajnal, who appeared offside, as the ball went wide to Dilaver. His curling ball in came back off Danilovics, for the arriving Bode to make no mistake and make it 1-2. A Varga corner on the hour mark was headed clear by Ivanovski. That brought a volley from Hajnal, which produced a very good save by Danilovics.
Ivanovski then raced towards the FTC goal on 74 minutes, beating one defender and then hitting a smart low right footed shot, which Dibusz again saved. There were nine minutes left on the clock when the visitors made the game safe. Hajnal sent a high ball in from the right, which Bode connected with for a fine header to make it 1-3. There was a league debut for 19 year old Viktor Sejben with 7 minutes left. He could have scored in the 91st minute following a neat ball from Oliveira. However, the final whistle blew and the result was a 3-1 win for the Budapest side.
