Match Report: Ferencvaros come away with the three points in a battling match

It was billed as the match of the autumn season with MOL Fehervar FC entertaining Ferencvaros in Szekesfehervar. A crowd of over 12,000 turned out to watch this game with Vidi going into the match in first place. 

Various activities took place in and around the stadium before the match, which as always proved popular with all ages. 

Manager Marko Nikolic had to do without long term injured players Krisztian Geresi, Szabolcs Huszti, Attila Fiola and Paulo Vinicius. Also out was Mate Patkai who failed to recover from a slight strain. Things on this front did not improve in the warm up as Roland Juhasz suffered an injury that meant that Adrian Rus had to quickly jump into his place as a late starter. The starting line-up was: Kovácsik - Nego, Rus, Musliu, Hangya - Nikolov, Elek - Petryak, Pantic, Kovács I. - Futács. There was a place in the first eleven for the first time for Danilo Pantic.

Visiting manager Sergei Rebrov chose the following side fresh from Thursday's impressive 1-0 win in Moscow in the Europa League Group Stage: Dibusz - Botka, Blazic, Dvali, Civic - Kharatin, Sigér, Ihnatenko - Isael, Varga R., Tokmac.

It was Ferencvaros that started the game but the first chance fell to the home side. With 4 minutes on the clock, Nego stepped over the ball and Petryak went down but referee Berke waved play on. Two minutes later and Siger hit a shot from the left that landed in the hands of Kovacsik from 19 meters. Botka then fouled Kovacs to go into the book with roughly a quarter hour played. A Blazic header bounced across the goal following a corner a minute later. Nikolov brought down Ihnatenko and while on the floor kicked out in anger at Vidi's midfielder. The brawl ended with Kovacs going into the book after complaining. Civik fouled Petryak and he also went into the match officials book.

It was Ferencvaros that went ahead on 24 minutes: Isael was awarded a free kick after a foul. The home defence tried to catch FTC in an offside position, but the assistants flag did not go up and it was Kharatin who chested the ball into the path of Siger, who shot unmarked into the back of the net. Kovacsik got a touch to it but the ball ended up going into the top right corner (0-1). 

Nikolov was adjudged to have fouled after 29 minutes and he was shown a card by referee Berke. A Pantic pass eight minutes later was volleyed by Nego but it went just wide. There were no further chances in the first half and the half time saw a change with Hodzic replacing Futacs in attack. 

It was Vidi that had the first chance of the second period after 49 minutes: Elek sent a powerful shot wide of the target. Not long after and it was Blazic whose name went into the book after his foul on Petryak. Ferencvaros made a change on 57 minutes with Tokmac coming off to be replaced by Zubkov. 

A quick throw after 61 minutes found its way to Hodzic who hit a great shot at goal from 25 meters, which produced a fine save from visiting keeper Dibusz. He reacted really well to tip the ball over the bar. The resulting corner was met by the head of Hangya but it went over. FTC then doubled their lead two minutes later through Siger: The ball rebounded off Musliu and it deceived Kovacsik in goal to make it 0-2 and it was his second goal of the game. 

Zubkov played the ball into the middle on 65 minutes before eventually arriving at Varga who lifted the ball over from 6 meters. Petryak hit a powerful shot from 17 meters after 67 minutes, which was punched away by Dibusz. Then a cross from the left saw Nikolov's header edging towards goal but again the visiting keeper was alert to the ball and he tipped it over from under the bar. The corner kick was followed by another one, which Elek flicked from 6 meters, but it again brought out a very good save from Dibusz. 

Milanov came on for Elek on 69 minutes while Kovacs was replaced by Bamgboye. Heister came on for Civic not long after. Defender Rus went forward to meet a header from a free kick but it went over. Hangya then crossed for Bamgboye to glance the ball over. 

Petryak cut the ball back on 75 minutes into the path of Nikolov, whose volley came off a defender. Bamgboye was then fouled by Dvali who also entered the referee's notebook. The free kick by Pantic was headed towards the far post by Hodzic but it did not find the target. 

Vidi scored a consolation goal after 86 minutes: Petryak crossed towards Bamgboye, who stood in front of the defender before the ball rebounded off him and into the path of Milanov who made no mistake from 7 meters (1-2).

Vidi increased their energy levels in search of the leveller while Lovrencsics also found his way into the referee's book. Ferencvaros could not get out of their own half while 5 minutes of injury time was shown by the fourth official. Hangya was the latest to see yellow in a game of many bookings. Hodzic shot at goal from 17 meters with 93 minutes on the clock after the ball came off a defender but Dibusz got down low to palm it away. There was still time for another chance with a cross from Nikolov being met by Petryak, but he could not guide the ball in the direction he wanted and the ball bounced wide. 

There were no further chances and Ferencvaros held onto their 2-1 lead to pick up the three points.
