Haladas arrive in good form

The Szombathely side have yet to be beaten this season

Haladas are the visitors to the Sostoi stadium on Sunday evening. Tamas Artner's side will arrive having not yet been beaten in the league this season. The Szombathely club were not too active in the summer transfer window, and the management felt that the squad, which did very well over the spring season, would be good enough to reach the targets set for the new campaign. Peter Andorka arrived from Pecs, while Zoltan Feher strengthened Haladas, following his move from Győri ETO.

Haladas ended last season in 8th place in the domestic league, despite beginning last season badly. They recovered very well over the spring season, earning them a mid-table finish. The first half of the 2011/2012 season was under the management of Zoltan Aczel, who tried to avoid the relegation battle with the Szombathely club. Aczel was the linked to the match fixing scandal, which eventually cost him his job and much more. Tamas Artner replaced him at the start of the spring season, and he made them a much harder side to beat. That run of form has continued over in to the start of the present season, having won 2 and drawn the other 2 of the 4 games played so far. They have also performed well on the road, having picked up a 1-1 draw away at Győr, before beating Siofok 3-0 in Balaton. Videoton will have to work hard on Sunday against a strong team.

Videoton have won 32 of the 65 matches played to date with Haladas. There have been 12 draws with a positive overall goal count of 108-76. Vidi first met Haladas back in 1968, when the red and blues lost 2-1 in Szombathely. Laszlo Karsai scored Vidi's goal that day, and he went on to find the back of the Haladas net ten times. Videoton have twice managed to beat Haladas by a six goal margin. The first of those came at the Sostoi stadium in 1977, with the most recent coming in 2004, when Daniel Tudor, Vidi's keeper, also finding himself on the goalscoring list that day. Tibor Wollek, Robert Jovan and Zoran Kuntics have all scored four goals against the green and whites in their playing careers.
