MTK Budapest, our opponents in the MOL Hungarian Cup 2024/2025, have not conceded a goal yet in their cup run.
On Thursday evening at 19:30 our team will visit MTK Budapest in the quarter-finals of the MOL Hungarian Cup.
The blue-and-whites from the capital started their cup campaign against Hódmezővásárhely FC and won confidently 2-0 away with goals from Polievka and Rajmund Molnár. In the next round, they visited Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia and won 3-0 with goals from Bence Végh, Krisztián Németh and Polievka. In the 5th round of the MOL Hungarian Cup, they won 2-0 away at Iváncsá, with goals from Zoltán Stieber and Artúr Horváth.
MTK are not doing too badly in the league either, currently in fourth place, but Dávid Horváth's side are capable of achieving extreme results. In mid-February this year, for example, they suffered a 5-0 defeat at the home of bottom of the league Kecskemét TE, before beating Újpest 5-1 at the Szusza Ferenc Stadium two weeks later. In the last round, MTK were beaten 2-1 by ETO FC Győr.
MTK Budapest scored the most goals in the league after Paks FC (44) and conceded the fourth fewest (34).
So far this season we have played MTK twice. We won 1-0 at home with Gradisar's goal and lost 3-2 away.
