The 98th first division game with MTK on Saturday

MOL Vidi FC make the trip to Budapest on Saturday evening in the OTP league.

A total of 21 games between MTK and Vidi have ended with the points shared. Both teams have managed 38 wins each with Vidi enjoying a better goal difference of 144:120 over the years. 

Saturday's game will be the 49th that MTK have been the host side. They enjoy a better record of 26 wins, 10 draws and 12 games where Vidi have come away with 3 points. The Budapest side have a 73-57 goal difference in their favour. 

The last five MTK - Vidi league games have been played in five different stadiums (Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion, Bozsik Stadion, Illovszky Rudolf Stadion, Dunaújvárosi Stadion, Új Hidegkuti Stadion) involving games between 2014 and 2017.

The first NB I game with MTK:

The first division game was played at the MTK stadium and the team from the capital emerged 3-1 winners. Vidi's goal came from Laszlo Karsai. The blue and whites were managed by legendary player Nandor Hidegkuti. Their stadium would later be named after a player who was part of the magical magyar side of the 50's.


The first Vidi win:
We did not have to wait long for the first win for Vidi. That came in 1968 on the 24th November in Szekesfehervar. Goals from Pinter and Bodnar earned a 2-0 win against MTK. 

Biggest Vidi win:
There have been two games that have seen a five goal margin over MTK. Both were won 5-0 against the team from the capital.

There have been four matches that have seen a win by four goals. The first came in season 1982-83 with goals from Zsinka, Szabo, Csuhay, Csongradi, Disztl and Majer securing a 6-2 win. The second match came in March 1985 with a double each from Szabo and Burcsa. A hatrick from Petres in September 1988 helped Vidi to a 4-0 win at home. The last match with a four goal margin was on the 17th April 2009. Goran Vujovics struck 3 times with Szakaly scoring the other to make it 4-0.

League game with the most goals:
There have been two games that have produced 8 goals in the 97 matches to date. The first was a 6-2 win in 1985, which has been covered above. The other match involving 8 goals was on the 29th April 2007 and a 5-3 win at the Sosto. Dajic and Julinho scored two each with Dani Nagy hitting the other.
