MOL Vidi FC secured a 3-1 win on Saturday to cut the lead at the top of the table.
Vidi made the journey to the New Hidegkuti Nandor stadium on Saturday evening. Marko Nikolic made three changes to his side from the one that played DVTK a week ago. Two of them were forced upon him after both Roland Juhasz and Szabolcs Huszti were suspended for the match. Akos Elek came into midfield in place of Mate Patkai, who took his place on the bench.
The home side saw more of the ball in the early moments without managing to create a chance. Vidi went ahead after 9 minutes with their first attack. Milanov took the ball inside from the left and fed Hadzic with a nice pass, with the Bosnian midfielder striking an 18 meter shot into the bottom corner of the net (0-1).
Hardly two minutes passed by for the visiting Vidi supporters to be cheering the second goal of the night. Hodzic played the ball out to the right for Nego to play the ball into the middle where Scepovic elegantly found the back of the net (0-2). Elek almost made it three minutes later as his shot was first saved by keeper Kicsak, before the tall midfielder clipped the bar with the rebound. It topped off a dream start for MOL Vidi.
Bognar went close for MTK after 19 minutes with his powerful shot bringing a good save out of Kovacsik. A corner a minute later for the home side again found Kovacsik in the right place to deal with it. MTK continued to go on the attack and with 23 minutes on the clock, a Gera shot from 20 meters needed Kovacsik to deny him. The match was proving exciting with 2 goals for Vidi and plenty of chances in front of goal.
Vidi continued to comfortably defend their two goal lead and they increased their lead on 36 minutes with the third. A Milanov corner found its way to Stopira who from close range made no mistake (0-3). There was a chance for a fourth goal right on half time, but Kicsak did well to deny Stopira with a header. The two sides went in at the break with Vidi leading 3-0.
The second half began with a chance for the home team. A Patrik Vass shot after 52 minutes was saved well by Kovacsik, while a cross from Katona just failed to find Balint Vogyicska, who slid in at the far post. The home side scored a consolation goal after 62 minutes. Gera did well to get hold of the ball and played it across the face of the goal for Torghelle to tap the ball in (1-3).
Hodzic blasted over from 22 meters after 70 minutes. MTK had more of the ball during this period of the game, but they could not really carve out a chance to threaten the visiting goal. A Kovacs shot after 84 minutes was saved by the home keeper. There was no change to the score as the referee blew for full time. MOL Vidi FC cut the gap at the top of the table to 6 points. Bottom of the league Haladas are the visitors to the MOL Arena Sosto next week.
