Vidi will be looking to win away at Bekescsaba for the first time in 13 years

There are two places within Hungary where Vidi have not enjoyed too much success. Bekescsaba is one of those.

Vidi are preparing to play their 55th first division match against Bekescsaba. The overall record is split between the two. Vidi have won 20 of those games. A further 14 have been drawn and the remaining 20 lost. Vidi enjoy a better overall goal record of 78-62.

There are two places within the country where Vidi have enjoyed very little success over the course of history. The first is Debrecen, where Vidi were able to win in spring for only the fourth time. The red and blues then celebrated the second league title success the following day. The other stadium of little success is Bekescsaba. There have been 27 first division games over time, with Vidi emerging winners 5 times. 10 have been drawn and 12 lost. Goal difference between the two at the Korhasz stadium is 42-28 in favour of the home side.

The first home and away league games with Bekescsaba
Vidi first met Bekescsaba in the first division on the 11th September 1974. The match at the Sostoi stadium ended with the visitors coming away with a 1-0 win. The return away league match ended without any goals being scored on the 12th April 1975.

The first home and away wins against Saturday's opponents
There was not too long to wait until the first win against the lilacs. That came in the following season in Szekesfehervar with a 3-0 win. Vidi did the double that year as they picked up the points at the home of Bekescsaba.

Match with the most goals
That came on the 1st September 1976 at the home of Bekescsaba. The home side took the lead after 23 minutes through Sandor Paroczai. Vidi scored three quick goals in the second half, before Pasztor pulled one back. Vidi won that game 5-2 against a side managed by Kalman Meszoly. A similar match took place 15 years later on the 5th May 1991. Bekescsaba took a first half lead, before three goals for the visitors in the second half. Videoton eventually won that game 4-2.

The two sides have been involved in several high scoring games. Vidi won 5-1 in 1997, 5-0 in 2004, 4-1 in 1984 and 1983. There was also a 4-0 win back in 1978. Bekescsaba have also managed some big wins over Vidi. They won 4-1 at the Sostoi stadium in 1982 and a 5-0 home win in 1993. The scoreboard in 1998 read 4-0 in favour of Saturday's opponents.

Last league success away at Bekescsaba
That came 13 years ago on the 31st August 2002. The first division match ended without goals in the first half. However, manager Peter Varhidi send on Predrag Gajicsot in the second half and he needed 30 seconds to find the back of the net. Istvan Hamar scored the second that day in a 2-0 win.
