The views of the two managers

Gyorgy Mezey spoke shortly after seeing his side go 13 points clear

Gyorgy Mezey: "The match was an exciting one from a management point of view. The second half saw my side play with that added motivation, which was needed, and that help us on our way to a big win, against a well organized Papa side. I have not yet seen one of Gyorgy Veber's sides play with this formation. It was difficult for us to play our way through their defence. We needed a lot of patience, to break down a wall, which often had seven or eight players in it. It is important to remain calm in situations like this. When ever Papa got the ball, they just pumped it forward. The task was to get through their back line, and I reminded them about this at half time. I could see that the visiting defenders would not be able to keep the discipline. This is how it turned out, and we were waiting to take full advantage as soon as they made an error. The game changed after the first goal went  it, and Papa began to come at us, and that meant that they opened up a bit. We ended up scoring another three goals in the second half. I am also pleased that my side played together as a team, and I also saw several good individual performances."

Gyorgy Véber: "I would say after today's game that it is a pity that football matches are not 70 minutes in length. We managed to do the things we had planned for that period. We played with three central defenders to help us close down the area in front of goal. We also managed to play football at the same time, and we were more successful in the first half. We were then put under more pressure in the second half. which was down to a weaker performance by some of my players in the second period. The question at that time was exactly when would we concede the first goal. I was not counting on my defence to collapse in the way it did. This was disappointing to see as we had battled well up until that point."
