Match Report: Three goal win over MFK Ruzomberok

Videoton won their second friendly game of the Austrian training camp on Sunday.

Slovakian side MFK Ruzomberok were the opponents for Videoton in their second friendly game of pre-season on Sunday. Manager Marko Nikolic fielded the following team: Kovácsik – Nego, Juhász, Fejes, Stopira – Bódi, Varga, Hadzic, Suljic – Lazovics, Scepovic.

The first dangerous attack came from Vidi on 4 minutes: Lazovic relesed Bodi down the right wing, and the winger sent in a sharp cross from the arriving Suljic, but the ball was slightly long. A Lazovic header after 10 minutes was headed at goal by Stopira, but the ball got stuck with the defender who was tussling with Juhasz. The rebound fell to Scepovic, but the ball was blocked by a Slovakian defender. The action continued as Suljic started a move that found Scepovic, and the Serbian forward showed coolness to place the ball besides Macik to make it 1-0. The first save from Videoton keeper Kovacsik came after 23 minutes from a powerful shot that was saved. A lovely move down the left saw Vidi extend their lead after 32 minutes. Suljic, Stopira and Scepovic were all involved, with the ball finding Lazovic in the middle, who made no mistake to make it 2-0. There were no further chances in the first half as Vidi went in at the break with a two goal lead.

The second half saw Roland Szolnoki replace Adam Bodi, while Loic Nego switched to the right wing. The first action of the second period saw Lazovic play the ball to Scepovic, but the forward could not find the goal from a tight angle. Varga took a quick free kick after 56 minutes, which found Stopira and his cross ended up going in off Slovakian defender Menich 3-0. There were plenty of changes on 68 minutes when virtually none of the starting line-up remained. The team changed to Horváth – Szolnoki, Mocsi, Burka, Tamás Krisztián – Szabó Bence, Barczi, Pátkai, Kovács István – Maric, Géresi. The opponents were dangerous after 75 minutes when Jan Maslo's header threatened the goal. Maric chose to try his luck with a long range shot 10 minutes later, which produced a good save from the keeper. There was still work for both keepers in the remaining minutes. Bence Szabo curled a ball towards the top corner, which keeper Macik did well to save. Then Horvath was on hand to deny a close range header as Videoton ran out three nil winners.
