Match Report: 2-0 friendly win over Slovan Bratislava

Two goals from Danko Lazovic gave Videoton a good friendly win at Felcsut.

The final friendly game of the winter pre-season saw Vidi take on Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava. The game was played in Felcsut with Henning Berg playing the same team as he did against Krasnodar a week ago in Spain.

The first real chance of the game arrived after 10 minutes when Hadzic sent his powerful shot wide of the goal. A further 10 minutes went by before Lazovics released Scepovic, who shot from a tight angle, but the ball went across the opposing goal. It was all Vidi in the opening exchanges as Hadzic, Scepovic and Varga combined after 25 minutes to threaten the Slovan goal. The first two shots were blocked while Varga's effort did not result in the breakthrough. Yet another fine move from the red and blues arrived just before half time: This time the ball ended at the feet of Lazovic, who from 20 meters found the back of the net with a very good goal. The build up had seen Scepovic go down the wing and passing the ball to Suljic, who squared the ball to the Serbian forward to blast it into the back of the net (1-0). Kovacsik did pull off a good save after 44 minutes from a Salata header.

Patkai tried his luck in the first chance of the second half from 17 meters, but the ball sailed over the bar. Slovan tried to play their way back into the game and looked for an equaliser, but they could not create any clear cut chances. Vidi managed to double the lead after 75 minutes. Lazovic played Nego in down the right side, and he found Suljic, who played the ball back from a tight angle to the waiting Lazovic to make no mistake from close range and his goal made it 2-0.

The 82nd minute saw Orsula head at goal, but Kovacsik was equal to it and he pulled off a smart stop. Patkai had a shot a minute later but there was no further change to the score. A good cross from Hadzic was hit over the bar by Scepovic with 3 minutes remaining. The referee blew for full time and Vidi emerged 2-0 winners in their final friendly game.
