José Gomes: "This was a very tough match despite the final result"

Manager José Gomes watched his side hit six second half goals on Friday evening.

José Gomes: People will look at the result and think that it was an easy match, which is not true, but in fact it was a really tough one. Siofok defended fantastically, as if they had parked a bus on their goal line, while we had to break through that, which was not an easy task. Let's not forget that this side lost 2-1 at Győr, but could easily have drawn that game. We really had to work hard to win tonight. We put them under real pressure towards the end of the first period, which we continued to do in the second half. The players produced a fantastic performance, and managed to concentrate throughout, carrying out the things we had asked of them, so I can only congratulate them for this. The state of the pitch did not always make it possible to play our own combative, high passing and free flowing game. I thought that we would try out Roland Juhasz upfront, which I think worked out. There are situations in football when you can change things on the pitch without having to make a substitution. You can only see if these things work in a real match situation. We have now scored 14 goals in the first 3 spring matches, without conceding a goal. I do not know how long we can keep this run going for. Everyone will enjoy the taste of success tonight, but the 6-0 is already the past. We will be focusing on the match at Diosgyőr from tomorrow, which will be the most important task for us.

Horváth Károly: Sadly the result speaks for itself. I felt that after the first half when we had been equal opponents for Vidi, such a difference in the end result was not in the picture. The penalty and sending off put a stamp on our fate in the game for us. We lost our belief after this and the home team went on to deservedly win. We went into the spring season with such a budget, which would only allow us to try and avoid getting relegated. Sadly we are running out of games to be able to do just that.
