Comfortable win over Gyirmot to take Vidi to second in the league table

Two goals each from Scepovics and Feczesin did the damage as Vidi picked up 3 points.

Vidi entertained Gyirmot at the Pancho Arena in Felcsut on Saturday. Match 15 in the OTP league was played in rainy and cold conditions against the league newcomers. Istvan Urbanyi's side had lost their last 3 games going into the afternoon fixture. The visitors went into the match sitting in 10th place, while Vidi had to make do without two players in the form of Oliveira and Geresi, who missed out through injury.

The game could not have started any better with Videoton taking an early 3rd minute lead. Keeper Zsolt Sebok brought his side into difficulties when the former Vidi keeper failed to clear a kick, and the ball bounced off Scepovic and the rebound fell to Feczesin, who from close range made no mistake to find the back of the net (1-0).

Gyirmot came back into the game after that early setback and tried to create chances at the other end. Home keeper Kovacsik was required twice to pull off smart saves to keep his side ahead. A 14th minute effort from Lazovics was blocked by a defender, but there was no mistake 2 minutes later: Feczesin was the provider as he sent in a curling ball from the left, which just about found Scepovics, who passed the ball into the back of the net from 5 meters out (2-0)!

The Gyirmot keeper was kept busy as the game continued. Hadzic, Lazovics and Feczesin all had shots, which were saved by Sebok. Hadzic released Scepovics on 27 minutes, and he brought Lazovics in to play nicely, and the Serbian forward sent his shot over the bar. Patrik Vass then saw his header well saved by Kovacsik on the half hour mark. With 34 minutes on the clock, Patkai sent a long ball from inside his own half, which found Feczesin, who calmly clipped the ball beyond Sebok to make it 3-0.

Salloi found the post for Gyirmot after 35 minutes, while Sebok saved a Juhasz header on half time.

The second half started well for the red and blues and Feczesin was fouled by Bojovic, which resulted in referee Ando Szabo pointing to the spot. Feczesin took the penalty, but watched as his kick was well saved by Sebok to deny the forward a hatrick.

Vidi extended their lead after 59 minutes. Lazovics curled a ball into the box and Feczesin placed his header into the path of Scepovics, who found the far corner of the net to make the score 4-0.

The match then settled down for the remaining 20 minutes with small chances at both ends. Feczesin found himself with a good chance with 10 minutes remaining. He shot with his left foot, but the veteran Gyirmot keeper saved well. Salloi again found the post four minutes later after an individual effort but the visiting side could not manage a goal over the 90 minutes.

There was no further change to the scoreline and the game ended the same as when the two met in August in Gyirmot. The 4-0 win means Vidi leapfrog Ferencvaros, who lost at home to Paks. Videoton are next in action on the 11th November when they take on Serbian side Partizan Belgrade at the Pancho Arena in a friendly.
