Bamgboye goal and assist secures friendly win over Vasas

Vidi were in friendly action on Saturday morning in the Budapest sun.

The international break meant that Vidi took advantage to play a friendly game in Budapest against Vasas. It was the first time for the team from Fehervar inside the new Vasas home.

Manager Marko Nikolic fielded the following side on Saturday morning: Kovács D. - Nego, Tamás O., Elek, Major M. - Bamgboye, Hadzic, Pantics, Milanov - Petrjak, Zsóri. There were no NB I players on the subs bench while Martin Major came in for his second appearance in the first team at left back following his debut against Haladas. Vasas played with a starting line-up of: Bősz - Szivacski, Viczián, Lakatos - Terbe, Kovács M., Szatmári, Kleisz, Hajdú Á. - Szedlár, Király B.

The friendly was two minutes old when the first goal came. Kleisz shot from long range and it struck the post with Szedlar alert to pounce and head home the rebound for Vasas (1-0). Vidi came back quickly and a pass from Milanov found Bamgboye, who showed good skill before shooting inside the near post (1-1).

Zsori back heeled into the path of Bamgboye, who beat off his man before squaring the ball to Petryak who made no mistake to make it 1-2 to Vidi with just 13 minutes on the clock.

Botond Kiraly broke through 10 minutes later on the right and his shot was punched away by Vidi keeper Daniel Kovacs. The 39th minute saw Oliver Tamas release Bamgboye down the right and his good ball into the middle was met by Zsori, but keeper Bosz did well to deny him.

The second half started with two efforts for the home side that both hit the post. Lakatos found the post on 49 minutes while Szedlar did the same just four minutes later. A shot from Petryak was saved by Bosz in the Vasas goal with 15 minutes played of the second period.

Daroczi showed good movement as he went on a run after 74 minutes before shooting from 20 meters, but Kovacs did not have to save. There were no further chances as Vidi ran out 2-1 winners in this friendly.

Marko Nikolic will take his side to Mezokovesd next weekend for a big league game that sees first against second.
