Balazs Farkas picks up a two match ban

Videoton's captain was sent off in the Hungarian cup match on Wednesday

Videoton captain Balazs Farkas received a red card, twenty minutes after coming on as a second half substitute in Wednesday evening's 1-0 cup win at Kaposvar.

The Hungarian FA have handed out a two-match ban, which means that Farkas will miss both the return leg, in two weeks time, and the final itself, should Videoton go through. Football can be a cruel game at times, as the same players went through a similar experience five years ago. He was playing in the semi-finals against Debrecen, when he was sent off, and received a similar two match ban. He ended up missing the cup final, which Vidi managed to win. The experienced midfielder will now be hoping that his side can win both matches. It will not be easy for Farkas to watch from the sidelines, but one small comfort is that he is available for selection in the Monicomp league matches, and manager Gyorgy Mezey will need every player for the final seven league matches of the 2010/1011 season.
