A tough battling match saw chances for both teams. The Russian team attacked more in the second period and converted one of them.
The second friendly match of the second training camp was played at La Cala sports centre, which is located 60km from the hotel in Estepona. The weather was sunny and around the 15c mark.
The teams started at a quick pace with the first chance falling to Vidi. A cross from Gyurcso was cleared to Kovacs, who lay the ball to Nikolics, whose shot from 28 meters was blocked by a defender. A right footed effort in the 11th minute from Mykhalyk from 23 meters out went wide. Nikolics went down the left a minute later and the ball went off a defender for a corner. A Gyurcso corner was flicked over by Mareval from 6 meters. The Russian side also tried to get the breakthrough, but they could not get past the Vidi defence or get the ball in to the box.
Oliveira found himself with a good chance on goal after 24 minutes, but a defender slid in at the final moment. The corner ended with a shot from Trebotic, which was blocked, but fell into the path of Nikolics, who hit a shot wide from the right. A free kick from Boussoufa was headed by Corluka, which required a good save from Calatayud. However, the assistant referee had flagged for offside. Denisov arrived on the left on 34 minutes after a cross from Niasse, but the header went wide from close range. The 44th minute included a promising shot that went over from 8 meters.
There were no changes to the Vidi side at the break. The first Russian corner arrived on 52 minutes, which was headed away by Trebotic, but the resulting shot from Boussoufa went wide. Kasaev found the back of the net two minutes later, but that was disallowed for offside. Lokomotiv went ahead after 54 minutes when Fernandez cut inside from the left with the ball ending up at the feet of Boussoufa, whose powerful shot from 10 meters went in under the bar (0-1).
The goalscorer then sent in a high ball from a free kick on the right, which was volleyed over by Niasse. There were a total of 6 changes on 62 minutes. Ivanovski, Feczesin, Sandor, Stopira, Alvarez and Heffler all came on while Nikolics, Mareval, Oliveira, Simon, Kovacs and Gyurcso came off. A Boussoufa corner on 68 minutes was volleyed at goal by Samedov, but a player got his head to the ball, which required a good save from Calatayud. Tasarov saw his header from 7 meters go just wide following a corner. There was another chance for the Russian side when Boussoufa found himself with a good chance, but Calatayud bravely saved that shot. Ivanovski was another to have a chance in front of goal on 73 minutes. He could have gone for goal alone, but the match official blew for offside. There were several chances towards the end with the first seeing Ivanovski get the ball in the middle before taking it 30 meters and trying with his left foot from 25 meters. Guilliherme saved that shot and then a Heffler cross was headed at goal by Alvarez, but the ball went wide of the mark following a touch by Feczesin.
There was no change to the score with Lokomotiv winning 1-0. The next friendly game will be played on Saturday afternoon against Dinamo Kiev.
