Goals from Vinicius and an own goal gave Videoton all three points at the Pancho Arena.
Videoton were in OTP league action on Saturday afternoon. Match 23 of the season saw DVTK, who are battling to avoid relegation, visit Felcsut.Vidi have already played the Miskolc club twice this season and lost both.
The game started with a chance for Vidi early on. Suljic sent in a low cross that Hadzic hit wide from 10 meters. The visitors came back a minute later when Daushvili got hold of the ball and the move ended with Fulop hitting over from 18 meters out. There was around 30 minutes on the clock when Vidi threatened again in front of the visiting goal. Midfielder Patkai had his scissors kick blocked by a defender. Nego then shot over after playing himself in on goal. The reply came a couple of minutes later when an Ugrai free kick was met by the head of Novothny, but the header went over from close range.
Videoton found the breakthrough on 33 minutes: A corner from Lazovic was met at the near post by Vinicius, who did well to flick his header into the back of the net (1-0)! It was the first goal of the season for the defender who became a Hungarian national a day earlier. The home side then doubled their lead and settled the game 3 minutes later. Nego had the ball close to the goal line on the right, and his shot was deflected into his own net by Jagodinskis (2-0)!
There was still time in the first half for Kovacsik to comfortably save a long range effort from Ugrai. The second half started with a corner from Lazovic, which Patkai flicked on, but the ball hit a defender and went wide. Both teams tried but they could not really create too many chances between them. The supporters had to wait until the 67th minute when Karan sent his header wide following a corner for DVTK. Dejan Karan was again in the action 8 minutes later. This time his header did not cause any problems for home keeper Kovacsik. Hadzic had a left footed shot after 80 minutes go wide, while a Stopira cross after 84 minutes was headed wide by Scepovic. The visitors sent on substitute Szarka, but his shot was blocked after 86 minutes. He also had a header go over moments later. Kovacsik again looked confident when he denied a long range Vela shot towards the end of the match.
Vidi won 2-0 and continue to lead the OTP league table. There will now be a break in the season due to international games. The red and blues are next in action when they visit Paksi FC on the 1st April.
