The friendly against NK Maribor will kick off at 15:00pm.
Vidi have already played four friendly matches in Spain during January. The team are again in friendly action on Wednesday, with a 15:00pm kick off against Slovenian champions NK Maribor.
Wednesday's opponents were formed back in December 1960, before playing their football in the top division of Yugoslavia from 1967. NK Maribor were part of the first division when the new Slovenian football league kicked off in 1991. They have won 13 league titles in the 25 years to date. Maribor can add a further 8 cup wins to their name during that period. That has resulted in a record number of successes in Slovenia for our southern neighbours.
They have played in the Europa league and Champions league group stages, but went out at the Champions League qualification stage against Astana. That meant that they had to focus their attention on the domestic league. NK Maribor are currently second in their league, sitting 3 points behind Olimpija Ljubljana. Vidi met Maribor in the Champions League back in 2010, and secured a 3-1 aggregate win over the Fehervar side.
NK Maribor have also had two training camps during the winter pre-season. They are managed by former Croatian international Krunoslav Jurčić. The match will be played in Maribor with a 15:00pm kick off, but the game will be behind closed doors.
