Paulo Sousa's side have put together an impressive run of 14 matches since they last tasted defeat
Videoton's good away win against Diosgyőr on Sunday evening, means an impressive run of 14 undefeated games. Paulo Sousa's side last lost on the 23rd October in an OTP league match at Győri ETO. That match ended in a single goal defeat, but Vidi have since gone from strength to strength. The 2-0 Hungarian cup away win at Tatabanya signalled the start of a run, which has seen Vidi progress on all three fronts. The boys in red and blue have cut the gap to just 3 points with the second placed side, while they have made in to the League cup semi-finals and enjoy a 5-1 first leg lead over Győr in the 6th round of the Hungarian cup. The return leg will take place on Wednesday, with Vidi looking good to progress. The run has seen 12 wins and 2 draws, which has resulted in a goal difference of 39 goals scored and just 6 being conceded.
The next two matches are tough on paper, with a home league match against table topping Debrecen, followed by a visit down south to Pecs, who lost at home to Ferencvaros on Sunday. Six points from those two games will really pull Vidi to within shooting distance of the top places. With 11 league games left and 33 points to play for, Videoton are very much in the frame to have a big say in how things pan out when the season ends in May.
