Videoton FC progressed into the fifth round of the Hungarian cup on Wednesday afternoon. Paulo Sousa's side travelled to nearby Tatabanya, who are fourth in the second division, and came away with a comfortable 2-0 win. Sousa fielded a mixed side, with a rare chance for Mladen Bozovics in goal. Greek defender Apostolopulosz partnered Vasko in a new look central defensive pairing, while Polonkia and Vaszilijvics occupied the central midfield spots. Nagy played on the right side, with Walter out on the left. Evandro played just behind lone striker Nikolics. The match began with both sides trying to win the personal battles around the pitch. Tatabanya, included Vidi loan player Izing in their defence, while Mori, Milanovics and Sitku all trying to show their former team what they can do.

Vidi continued to press forward in search of more goals, Evandro found the back of the net after 20 minutes, but the linesman flagged for offside. Mori had the first real chance for Tatabanya, when his free kick went just over the bar. Nikolics then blasted over after 28 minutes, following a good ball in from Polonkai. Tatabanya should have levelled on the half hour. Farkas found himself with the ball at his feet with just the keeper to beat, but he somehow managed to hit the ball wide of the post. There were no more big chances in the first period, with Vidi leading by a single goal at the break.

The second half began at a quick pace, with the first chance coming after 50 minutes. Nagy crossed from the right and Nikolics found the keeper equal to his effort. Evandro then released Nikolics, whose shot from a tight angle was punched clear by the keeper. Izing was booked for the home side after 55 minutes after he pulled back Nikolics, with the referee pointing to the spot. Midfielder Vaszilijevics shot over the bar from the resulting penalty and Tatabanya remained in the match. The match was safe after 70 minutes, when Nikolics wriggled free on the left before cutting the ball back for Sandor to score into the empty goal to make it 2-0. Vidi deserved the win over the whole 90 minutes, with several players getting the chance to show manager Paulo Sousa what they could do. The focus now switches to Saturday's OTP league match at Papa.
