Videoton  produced the needed second half performance to go 13 points clear at the top of the Monicomp league on Saturday. Beautiful weather and an exciting game made it worthwhile for the supporters to turn out on the Easter weekend. Vidi were looking to get last Sunday's 2-0 away defeat out of their system, and build on the midweek Hungarian cup win at Kaposvar. Gyorgy Mezey brought Daniel Nagy back into the starting line up on the right wing, while the rest of the side remained more or less unchanged. Papa were hard to break down in the first half, with Vidi strike pair, Laszlo Lencse and Andre Alves finding it hard to get in behind a tight visiting defence. Vasziljevics looked good on the left, while Sandor in central midfield put in a good performance. Bozsovics was untroubled in the Vidi goal, with both Liptak and Vasko looking assured infront of him.

The breakthrough finally came in the 70th minute when Papa keeper Szucs collided with Gosztonyi, and the referee pointed at the spot. Alves saw his initial shot parried before reacting quickest to convert the rebound and make it 1-0. The goal rallied Vidi into action and they began to build attack after attack, with Gosztonyi creating problems on the right. The right winger ran clean through on goal and his shot was touched into the back of the net by Lencse to make it 2-0. Alves then showed great skill to race away from the Papa defence, before he cleverly clipped the ball past the on rushing Papa keeper, making the score 3-0. It was no more than Videoton deserved, as they showed no sign of taking their foot of the pedal. Brazilian Alves then sent a lovely long range pass into the path of substitute Nikolics, who raced clear and beat Szucs with a nice shot to wrap the game up at 4-0.  Vidi now travel to Paks on Tuesday night, as they edge ever closer to their first league title in their history.
