The views of the two managers

Gyorgy Mezey spoke after Friday evening's 2-1 win over Debrecen

"It was a huge match, with high-stakes. That Debrecen were targeting first place before the match, and thinking clearly, they had no chance of doing this. It is true that they were really up for this league match, and they were able to dominate in parts, but I would put this down to the big pressure placed on my players. They were playing for three points, and it is those same three points that has given us a big step towards our own aims. That was one of the reasons why we were a bit tense today. We played a part in their goal when Denes Szakaly's back pass put in Coulibaly, but this is part of football. Szakaly set up our first goal, and he also set up their equaliser. This was a difficult win on the whole, and there will be games like these during the course of the league season, when you have to win whichever way you can. Today's match was just like this."

Debrecen manager Zdenek Scasny left the Sostoi stadium straight after the final whistle.

Tamas Sandor: "We were a bit sluggish in the beginning of the match, but we took over after 20 minutes. I would even go one step further, and say that we played better than Videoton. We tried to create chances and get behind the Videoton defence. We managed to partly do this, but there were also periods when we couldn't. We had further chances in the second  half, but we were not able to get any points from today's match."
