The two head coaches evaluated the MOL Fehérvár FC-Gabala SC match

Michael Boris and Elmar Bakhshiyev spoke to the press after the match.

Michael Boris:

"Six weeks ago we started our preparations a little early with the aim of winning today's match. The results of the training matches were okay, but we know that in reality it doesn't mean much. Until the break we didn't play as fast as we had planned, we had difficulties to find free spaces, but we managed to equalize with a nice goal in the first half. At the break, it was good that our video analyst was able to come down and show us a few things that allowed us to be more effective in the second half. With the second goal, scored from a set-piece, we opened the door for a more successful continuation. The substitutes came on well and were able to bring the same level of play as the starters, and we managed to win the game 4-1. Of course, there were mistakes late in the game, such as Shabanov needing a big save at the end of a 3 on 1 situation to maintain our three goal lead going into the return leg. I hope to have seen a lot of planned things from us in today's game, not only in fixed situations, but also in ball or off the ball moves. I would have predicted a 4-1 win, but in the first 20 minutes you could see what happens when our game doesn't fully work. We'll definitely play a tough game out there, but we'll highlight today's game and go into Gabala with the goal of making it to the third round."

Elmar Bkhshiyev:

"We saw two different halves. In the first half we did what we planned to do, but in the second half our opponents dominated much more and we couldn't really contain their attacks. I think our fans will see a better performance from us in the second leg, and we want to make the most of the second game. Thank you for the applause from the Hungarian public for our injured player, they seem to understand football, it was a nice gesture. We hope that the tests will not show any serious problems with Qirtimov."
