The full stats as Videoton prepare for their game of the season

The last five matches between the two sides at the Bozsik stadium in Budapest has seen 2 wins for Videoton. There have been 2 defeats and 1 draw. 

Vidi come face to face with Honved for the 49th time on Saturday evening in Budapest. The 48 games to date has seen the Budapest side enjoy a better overall record. Honved have won 29, while 9 have been drawn and the remaining 10 have produced maximum points for the red and blues. Honved also have a better overall goal difference of 84-35. Overall the record reads 45 wins for Honved, 17 draws and 34 defeats, with a goal difference of 137-106 in favour of the Kispest side.

First ever league match:
That came in 1968 in the 11th game of the season. The match in Szekesfehervar on the 26th May saw the Budapest side emerge 2-1 winners. Vidi's goal that day was scored by Laszlo Kovacs. The first match at the Bozsik stadium between the two also took place in the same year. Videoton won 2-1 with goals from Kovacs and Balogh. Bertalan Bicskei was in goal for Honved in both those matches. He would later go on to become national team manager in the 90's and also Vidi manager in 2003.

Biggest ever win:
It is interesting to note that the biggest ever league win over Honved was not actually played at the Sostoi. Vidi visited the Bozsik stadium in season 2012-13 and came back with the points and a 4-0 win. Mitrovics scored two, with Oliveira and Kovacs scoring the other two.


Vidi have won by a three goal margin in five matches. Three have ended 4-1 and the other two 3-0.

Biggest defeat:
Honved twice beat Vidi with a 5-0 scoreline. The first was on the 6th June 1987 and the second on the 28th October 1995.

Match with the most goals:
The two sides have shared six goals in three matches over the years. Season 1976/77 ended in a 3-3 draw in Szekesfehervar. Burcsa scored twice while Nagy scored the other goal for Vidi that day. Honved won the other two matches at the Bozsik stadium by a 5-1 scoreline on the 16th April 1994 and 5th August 2007.

Gyorgy Novath has 5 goals against Honved over the years. The striker scored his goals for Vidi between 1978 and 1986. All those games in which he scored ended with Vidi wins!

100th Vidi goal
The autumn fixture between the two in Szekesfehervar resulted in the 100th goal being scored. Roland Juhasz was the man on target as Vidi notched up a century of goals against Honved in first division matches.
