Maribor manager Darko Milanic spoke at the press conference, in Győr, on Wednesday.
Darko Milanic, manager of Videoton's opponents in Thursdays Europa League game spoke at a press conference on Wednesday, ahead of the big game. He feels that he has done his homework on Videoton, and is familiar with their strengths and weaknesses. He is looking forward to the game with confidence.
Milanic is familiar with the Videoton side and appeared to be "in the picture" at the press conference. He also knew about Videoton's most recent signing of an international defender on Tuesday. The manager also said that no conclusions could be drawn on the friendly matches that Vidi have played, and the real test will happen on Thursday. The Slovenian side went through a training session in the evening under the 33c heat in Győr. Milanic commented that the extreme hot weather conditions have to be accepted.
NK Maribor player Aleš Mejač sat next to his manager at the evening press conference. He said that the fact that Videoton would not be playing in their own stadium had little meaning. It made no difference to the Slovenian side who will have to battle away in the first leg in Hungary. It makes little difference to them whether the game is played in Szekesfehervar or Győr. Mejač also highlighted that he will be counting a lot on the travelling Maribor fans. He added that he was expecting many supporters to travel; who would all add to the atmosphere created by the home fans.
