An injury to Vilmos Vanczak has resulted in the Videoton defender being called up to the Hungarian national team.
Another Vidi player has been called up to the national squad ahead of the qualifier against Greece. Roland Juhasz and Nemanja Nikolics have already been preparing with the Hungarian squad.
"I knew about the news on Thursday after 18:00pm that I have received a call up to replace Vilmos Vanczak. What can I say except that I was really surprised as I was not among the reserve players, but at the same time I am delighted. A chapter ended in my life last year when I outgrew the U21 side. I am clear with the fact that this is just the first step, but it does not mean that I will play for the national team on Sunday. Naturally I will do all I can to respectfully represent my country, but I will not be disappointed if I still have to wait to make my debut. I feel that it is huge recognition that Pal Dardai thought about me when it became clear that Vanczak could not participate in the national teams preparations. I would like to thank Vidi and Joan Carrillo who have helped me to get this far" - commented Roland Szolnoki.
