In the first minutes, the more agile Turks had more of the possession until the 9th minute when Christensen, marked by two defenders, broke inside the box and fell to the floor, but the referee's whistle remained silent.

In the 16th minute Katona was given a good ball and the Turkish goalkeeper could only foul him, which resulted in a penalty. The spot kick was confidently slotted into the left side of the goal by Christensen (1-0). Our team came more and more into the game, but Pető could only be stopped by a foul 20 metres from goal. Csongvai curled the free kick just over the top right corner.

In the 22nd minute we scored our second goal when a cross from Katona on the right was converted into the net by Christensen who was alert as ever to make it 2-0. In the 26th minute Gradisar's close range shot was saved by Özcimen, it was close to becoming our third goal of the game.

In the 33rd minute, Göztepe came back into the game: a penalty awarded for a handball by Serafimov. Antonio hit the penalty onto the left post, the rebound was finally converted home by Ildiz, whose low shot nestled in the bottom right corner. In the closing minutes of the first half, the Turks equalised: in the 44th minute, Kanatsizkus lifted the ball into the top corner from a free kick variation from the right (2-2).

At the break, Pető was replaced by Larsen. The first fifteen minutes of the second half was scrappy, with the teams mainly battling each other in the middle of the pitch and no danger to either goal. There were a lot of inaccurate passes and minor fouls on both sides, which didn't help the flow of the game.

In the 60th minute, Cardoso slid a shot wide from a promising position, and at the other end Larsen's 18-metre shot flew over. Tamás Pető made some substitutions, replacing Katona, Gradisar and Christensen with Babos, Stefanelli and Patrik Kovács.

Both teams could have won the game towards the end: first Sangare's cross from the right was headed out by Melnyik from the onrushing attackers, then Babos' cross was cleared by the defenders at the other end. At the end, Serafimov's header from Stefanelli's corner was saved and the result remained the same.

Our team finished the pre-season undefeated, and on Thursday, 25th July, we will have an away game in Azerbaijan, where we will start the 2024/2025 season with a Conference League match against Sumqayit FK.
