Previewing the final league cup group match with MTK
MTK may have been relegated from the first division last season, which surprised the majority of football fans in Hungary. However, they have been in great form this season, and look more than likely to regain their place in the top flight. The Budapest side currently lead the second division by seven points, having picked up thirty three points out of a possible thirty six. They have already beaten Videoton this season in the same competition. The pair met at the end of August with MTK winning the game by a single goal. MTK are one of the oldest clubs in Hungary, winning the Hungarian championships several times in their history. Wednesday afternoon's game will see the groups top two sides come face to face, with the winners guaranteed a place in the next stage of the cup. The league cup this season has seen Vidi already completing the double over Gyirmot, as well as a home win over Honved. Paulo Sousa's side have also earned a point in the away tie at Honved to sit top with ten points. They have also scored an impressive twelve goals in the four matches to date. Wednesday's game will be covered in full with a detailed match report, shortly after the final whistle.
