Videoton showed there character to clinch a win close to the final whistle. The three points also means the red and blues are even closer to securing second place in the OTP League table, which would be enough for the club to enter the Europa league at the second qualifying stage. On a weekend of football when Debrecen won the first division title and Vasas were relegated, Vidi picked up an important win in front of a passionate home crowd.

SETTLED LINE UP
Paulo Sousa went for a settled starting line up with Bozovic in goal and a defence, which saw Szolnoki and Hector occupy the full back berths, and the stable central defensive partnership of Caneira and VInicius in the middle. The midfield had plenty of experience with Mitrovics and Toth in the centre, with captain Sandor just ahead of them. Walter started the match on the left with Oliveira looking to cause problems down the right. There was also a last minute change to the match official, with Gabor Szabo Ando replacing Istvan Vad shortly before the kick off.

NIKOLIC WAS LOOKING DANGEROUS
The match kicked off with both sides trying to get an early upper hand in the game. Nikolics went down in the penalty area after 7 minutes with the match official waving away the forwards claim for a penalty. Videoton bagan to take control of the match as the first half went on. Nikolics then passed the ball back to Walter, whose strike brought a good save out of Győr keeper Stevanovic. Walter's corner was then cleared by the visiting defence. Sandor then released Nikolics with a good ball on the quarter hour mark, and the in form strikers shot went just wide of the post. Nemanja Nikolics had earlier committed his future to the club during the week.

The game was moving at a good pace with entertaining football being produced by the men in red and blue, who were determined to make second place their own by the end of the day. Defender Vinicius then blocked Varga's attempted cross. Oliveira's cross on 25 minutes resulted in Nikolic heading over the bar as Vidi continued to pile on the pressure on the ETO goal. The visiting keeper then blocked Nikolic' shot with his feet as Győr somehow avoided falling behind in the match. Győr were put under further pressure towards the end of the first period. Toth then had the final effort of the first half, with the ETO keeper collecting his shot without any problems. The teams went in level at the break, with Vidi enjoying the better of the first half. There were no changes at the break by either side.

VIDI TOOK A DESERVED LEAD
The second period began with Mitrovic' inswinging ball from the left hand side being well met by Nikolics, whose header gave Stevanovic no chance to give Vidi a well deserved lead. The goal came after a well worked set piece, and was just reward to Nikolics, who continued his great run of scoring goals. However, Vidi took their foot off the pedal and a lack of concentration allowed Koltai to steal in and lob Bozovic to score the equalizing goal. Sandor tried to restore the lead for Vidi with his powerful shot just failing to find the target after 54 minutes.

A POINT WAS NO GOOD FOR EITHER SIDE

Mitrovic then had a powerful volley blocked by the visiting defender as the Győr goal escaped danger once again. Bozovic then did very well to save from a powerful header as the game went from end to end. A point at this stage would have done neither side any favours and the home side really needed to find the all important second goal. The game was a fairly clean affair despite the referee handing out several yellow cards during the 90 minutes. Győr defender Takacs sent a wild shot over the bar as the visitors attempted to find their own winner, backed by visiting supporters that numbered 150.

LAST MINUTE SCREAMER FROM SANDOR
However, they were sent home empty handed as Gyorgy Sandor controlled the ball outside the area, before hitting a powerful shot into the far top corner of the net to give the keeper no chance. The fantastic goal created scenes of delight on the home bench, with Vidi knowing that the last minute goal was enough to not only give them the three points, but more importantly confirm their second place in the OTP league. Next week will see Lombard Papa visit the Sostoi as Vidi look to extend their impressive unbeaten run.
