Videoton FC kept all three points at the Sostoi stadium after they scored three second half goals. The only major change to the home defence was at right back, with Szolnoki replacing the injured Brachi. Otherwise it was a regular looking back line for Paulo Sousa's side. Gyurcso began the game on the right hand side of midfield, with a recall for Gosztonyi, who played out on the left. Mitrovic and Sandor held the midfield together in the centre, with the young Kovacs just ahead of them. In form striker Nikolics made sure that the Vasas defence would not have an easy afternoon by starting up front for the boys in red and blue.

There was a lower than usual crowd inside the Sostoi stadium, perhaps due to the early Sunday afternoon kick off, with the game also being covered live on national TV. Those supporters who did turn up saw an eventful opening few minutes. Vasas were under new management, with Marijan Vlak returning to the managerial bench, having taken over from Florian Urban during the week. Vasas gave Vidi an early shock by taking a 6th minute lead. Dajics ran alone on goal, with his shot being parried by Bozovics, and the rebound fell kindly to Ferko, who rolled the ball in the empty net.

The action continued at a pace with the opening half hour producing several chances but no further goals. Mitrovics then livened things up with a powerful long range shot that came back off the keeper, but there was no Vidi player to pounce on the rebound. Gyurcso could have put Videoton ahead right on half time when he ran on goal, but he chose to shoot and his effort flew over the goal as both teams went in at the break level. Paulo Sousa had things to say in the dressing room at half time, and his words had a quick effect as Vidi took an early second half lead. Gyurcso took a free kick after 47 minutes, curling it nicely into the box for Sandor to head home, giving the keeper no chance. It was just the start required as Vidi continued to press. Bozovics then did very well to save from Hercegfalvi after 52 minutes. However, the pressure continued to pile on the visiting goal and it was soon 3-1. Vasas defender Toth attempted to head back to his own goal, which the alert Nikolics intercepted, before rounding the keeper to place it nicely in to the back of the net.

In the end the home side saw out the remainder of the game to make sure the points remained at the Sostoi stadium. The win also cut the gap with the second place side to six points, but more importantly Vidi go into the midweek league cup final against Kecskemet with a good win behind their backs.
