Goals from Scepovic and Patkai helped Vidi come from behind to pick up the 3 points.
Second in the table MOL Vidi FC met fourth in the league Debrecen on Saturday evening at the MOL Arena Sosto. It was the final game of the day and kicked off at 19:30pm.
Midfielder Mate Patkai was presented with a shirt to mark his 300th league appearance. He had scored Hungary's winning goal in their qualifying match against Croatia during the week. Georgi Milanov came into the starting line-up while both Szilveszter Hangya and Krisztian Tamas were sidelined through injury.
The game starting with plenty of early battles around the pitch. The 4th minute saw Nego cross to Milanov who headed ahead of Scepovic, and it brought out a good save from visiting keeper Sandor Nagy. Loki came forward after 6 minutes with Haris proving dangerous, but the ball ended up going over the bar.
A cross on 8 minutes from Stopira was controlled on his chest by Futacs, before he turned and shot from 15 meters, but the ball ended up going over the bar. Jovanovics tried with an effort from 25 meters for the visitors after 12 minutes, but Kovacsik was on hand to deal with the shot. Neither side could muster a chance on goal midway through the first half with a cross from the right by Benyei being turned towards goal by Kevin Varga but the chance was not on target. Bodi took a corner after 34 minutes for Debrecen, which was flicked on by Szecsi but the ball did not trouble the Vidi goal.
MOL Vidi went close to taking the lead after 39 minutes when Vinicius sent a ball forward, which eventually fell to Futacs, who from 35 meters out tried with a long range shot, but Nagy managed to get back into position and he collected the ball. A Milanov corner shortly later was headed at goal by Futacs, but a defender blocked the shot and it went into the side netting.
Vidi started the second half with an attack that included Milanov's corner being flicked at goal after 47 minutes, which was tipped over by Nagy. The forward tried again to convert the ball into the goal, but it ended up coming off a defenders leg and Futacs, who was on the floor, was unable to find the net.
DVSC went ahead after 54 minutes when Vinicius fouled Kevin Varga and received a yellow card just outside his area. Tozser stood behind the ball and curled a 22 meter free kick into the back of the net (0-1). A cross from Kovacs three minutes later saw Scepovic break towards goal but the ball again nestled into the side netting. There was 63 minutes on the clock when an effort from 24 meters was saved by Nagy from Scepovic. Two minutes later and Nego shot from a tight angle, which went across the face of the goal but beyond the outstretched foot of Scepovic. A counter attack ended with the visiting player Kevin Nagy powerfully hitting a left footed shot that went wide of the goal.
Huszti came on for Kovacs while Milanov was replaced by Hodzic as Vidi pressed in search of the equalising goal.
A 72nd minute Tozser free kick from 35 meters out was stopped by Kovacsik. Anel Hadzic was the third sub to come on in place of Elek. Things sped up and Vidi pressed hard to get back in the game, which they managed to do after 77 minutes: Scepovic shot with his left foot from 19 meters, which deflected off Pavkovic and into the right corner (1-1).
The comeback was complete after 84 minutes when Hadzic found Hodzic on the edge of the box. The forward curled his shot to the far corner, which came back off the post and into the path of Patkai who converted the ball into the back of the net (2-1).
Debrecen almost levelled after 89 minutes when Ferenczi crossed for Zsori to head at goal, but keeper Adam Kovacsik pulled off a great save. Injury time included a Huszti free kick that Futacs headed at goal, but keeper Nagy was well placed. The final whistle blew and MOL Vidi picked up 3 more league points. They are next in action at home to Ferencvaros on Wednesday in the Hungarian Cup.
