Videoton produced a good first half performance to beat Győri ETO on Saturday. Gyorgy Mezey made several changes to his side, with Sebok coming in for Bozsovics in the Vidi goal. Andic returned to his preferred right back position, with Lazar rested, while Hidvegi continued his run in the side at left back. Young Martin Izing partnered Tamas Vasko at the heart of the defence. There were changes in the midfield area with Polonkai and Szakaly playing in the centre with Vasziljevics out on the left and Nagy returning on the right side in place of the suspended Gosztonyi. Andre Alves was rested with Nikolics partnering Lencse up front.

Vidi began the game on the attack, continuing where they left off against Kaposvar on Wednesday. Nikolics continued his hot form in front of goal with Vidi's first after 24 minutes. It was quickly 2-0 thanks to Attila Polonkai, as Vidi looked set to run out with a big win. They were winning the important battles around the pitch, with Győr unable to keep up at times with the league champions. The second half saw a comeback from the visitors, when substitute Dudas scored a lovely individual goal. Vidi striker Laszlo Lencse then kicked out at an opponent while on the floor, and referee Nemeth had no option but to produce his red card. It was the second match in a row that a Videoton player has been sent off.

Győr also had a penalty awarded after Andics brought down an opponent inside the area. However, Pilibaitis saw his spot kick saved by Sebok, who came to the rescue of his team mates. The visitors were also reduced to ten men towards the end as Vidi held out for all three points, and further celebrations following the final whistle.
