In the 2nd round of the OTP Bank Liga on Sunday evening we hosted the defending champions Ferencváros in the Sóstói Stadium. Bartosz Grzelak made two changes to the starting eleven from last week, this time Kovács D. - Bese, Larsen, Spandler, Zeke - Flores, Christensen - Kastrati, Houri, Schön - Kodro started. There was also good news before the match that our captain Attila Fiola was able to sit on the bench. However, Szilveszter Hangya and Levente Szabó were still unable to play due to previous injuries..

In the first ten minutes of the match there were no big chances, but in the 13th minute Krisztián Lisztes scored from seven meters after Owosu's cross (0-1). We immediately tried to equalize, Christensen crossed well to Kodró, whose 17-meter shot was saved by Dibusz. 26 minutes into the match, Flores would have put a rebound into the goal from 20, but he was inaccurate with his shot. After half an hour the visitors doubled their lead, Ramírez fired a powerful free-kick into the left side of the goal from distance (0-2).

In the 35th minute, keeper Kovács cleared the ball from off the foot of Traore, who was heading towards goal, and before that Bese's header was just wide of the target after Schön's cross. Kastrati had a great chance in the last five minutes of the half, but Dibusz saved a solo shot from the Kosovo winger, but in the 45th minute Kastrati made no mistake when he reacted quickly to a rebound and poked the ball past Dibusz from close range (2-1)!

The second half started without any substitutions, Kodro immediately offered Dibusz a long-range powerful shot, who saved his effort, the rebound went to Kastrati, but his shot was blocked by a visiting defender. In the 53rd minute, however, the equaliser came! After Christensen's corner, Kodro rose highest and headed the ball into the net from seven metres out (2-2)! In the 55th minute, the first substitution of the match was made: Besé was replaced by Csongvai. In the 58th minute we took the lead! Christensen won the ball after a mistake by Baráth, and Kodro thanked him nicely for the chance, slotting it home from inside the penalty area (3-2)!

Unfortunately, the 7048 fans in the ground quickly saw another reversal: first Zachariassen shot the ball past the helpless Kovács from close range (3-3), then Barnabás Varga turned away from Larsen and the previous season's goal scorer also scored (3-4). In the 70th minute Ferencváros increased their lead to two again, this time Traore scored from a close range header (3-5). In the 79th minute Varga's header was saved by Kovács, then Pető and Katona came on for Schön and Christensen. In the 84th minute, Larsen headed over from a corner. In the second half the score remained the same, we played bravely in an exciting match, but lost in an 8 goal thriller.
