Match Report: A 2-0 win over NK Osijek

Goals from Feczesin and Lazovic gave Videoton a 2-0 friendly win on Saturday.

Videoton were in friendly action on Saturday evening against NK Osijek. The Croatian opponents are currently third in their domestic league. They also brought a good number of travelling supporters to the game, which was played in Felcsut.

The first 20 minutes passed off without any major threat on either goal. The visiting side then went close to taking the lead: Mioc Benedik shot at goal from 22 meters, which clipped the right post. Lazovic tried his luck on the Croatian goal, but his shot from 25 meters did not hit the target. Feczesin found himself in an unusual position after 28 minutes, which was out on the right wing, and he played a lovely curling ball into the centre for Bodi, whose header went just over.

The action continued in a good first half of football with Szolnoki taking a long throw, which was headed on by a defender into the path of Feczesin, who made no mistake with his header to make it 1-0. That saw Vidi go in at the break with a single goal lead.

Patkai and Feczesin remained in the changing room at half time with Varga and Scepovic replacing them. Lazovic hit a 25 meter free kick on 50 minutes, which rebounded off a defender for a corner. The resulting corner from Bodi found Juhasz, who headed over the bar.

A free kick after 54 minutes ended with the ball being played into the box, for Juhasz to nicely head it on to Lazovic, who from 7 meters headed at goal, but visiting keeper Malenica produced a good save to deny the Serbian forward. Osijek's Perosevic had three chances inside a ten minute spell. He shot wide of keeper Kovacsik's goal from 10 meters, but the ball still hit the post but did not go in. A quick counter attack ended with Dmytro Lopa also striking the woodwork.

Vidi then put the Croatians under pressure following that and it produced its result after 73 minutes. Bodi took a corner, which Vinicius flicked on to Lazovic, and he made no mistake from close range to make it 2-0. There was still time for Lulic to take advantage of space inside the Videoton defence, but he could not beat Kovacsik who made a smart stop. Osijek again hit the post with 5 minutes left of the friendly. However, there was no further change to the scoreline and Vidi won 2-0.

Videoton are next in action next Saturday. They face Haladas in the league with kick off at 18:00pm.
