Match Report: 2-1 defeat away at Kisvarda

Our team were in OTP League action on Wednesday evening at the home of Kisvarda. The original match was scheduled to be played in match 5 of the season but it was postponed. Manager Gabor Marton chose the following side: Rockov - Bolla, Rus, Stopira, Fiola - Alef, Pinto - Petryak, Houri, Funsho - Zivzivadze.

The first chance came on 10 minutes when Houri sent a ball in front of goal from a free kick, following a foul on Petryak. The free kick was almost flicked into his own net by Viana. The corner fell to Stopira, who from close range saw his powerful header well saved by keeper Dombo. At the other end, Viana found himself with a chance on goal from 12 meters, but his left footed shot went wide. Sassa was played in on 17 minutes and Rockov was needed to produce a very good stop from 13 meters. 

Kisvarda went ahead after 22 minutes. Hej's cross fell to Sassa, who cut it back into the path of Simovsich, who made no mistake to make it 1-0. We managed to level six minutes later when Houri's free kick, was headed by the unmarked Alef into the path of Fiola, who guided it home with his head from close range to make it 1-1. It was his first league goal for Vidi!

The home side carved out a chance after 34 minutes. Viana sending in a ball from the left, which Sassa connected with from close range but it did not find the target. That was the final big chance of the first half. The second half began with a chance for Kisvarda after 48 minutes. A free kick was headed clear by Stopira having bounced in front of goal. Viana beat Rus to the ball with a dribble before shooting at goal from a tight angle, but Rockov comfortably saved. Lucas sent a high ball in after 56 minutes, which Viana headed from 9 meters, but again Rockov was well placed to collect it. However, he could not do anything as Kisvarda went ahead on the night after 58 minutes. Viana lifting the ball in front of Sassa, who from 15 meters found the back of the net 2-1. 

Alef shot over the bar on 62 minutes while a pass from Sassa at the other end after 73 minutes, ended with Viana trying a scissor kick. Funsho had time to shoot from 22 meters towards the end but it went wide of the goal. Fiola was needed to clear the danger on 90 minutes while the 3 minutes of injury time included a shot from Nego from a tight angle, but it did not find the target and the referee blew for full time. Kisvarda kept the 3 points at home with a 2-1 win. We are next in action on Saturday against Honved at the MOL Arena Sosto.
