A Stopira header was not enough to give MOL Vidi the points on Saturday evening in Miskolc.
Match 31 of the OTP league saw Vidi make the journey east to take on DVTK. Paulo Vinicius was missing after picking up a suspension while Roland Juhasz had an infection, which forced him out of the game. Istvan Kovacs took over the captain's armband.
The game did not start well for the visitors after Stopira lost possession on 5 minutes, which Hasani pounced on and moved the ball forward before hitting a shot from 22 meters that found the back of the net (1-0). MOL Vidi shook off the early set back and enjoyed more of the ball forcing 3 corners within 20 minutes. Stopira even scored but it was flagged offside.
The home side came back into the game as the half moved on and the ball was mainly being fought for in the middle of the pitch. Vidi went close to levelling 10 minutes before the break. Kovacs controlled a cross from Milanov and he laid it into the path of Hodzic, whose shot was blocked by a defender. The ball bounced in front of Futacs, who hit the left post from 16 meters out. Stopira then headed over three minutes later following a corner from Milanov. The home side were forced to bring off Shestakov and Bacsa replaced him right on half time.
The second half began with a big chance for the home side. Prosser played in Tajti, and he had a chance on goal, but Elek got back to clear the danger in the final second. The equaliser arrived after 50 minutes: The seventh corner was headed in by Stopira to make it 1-1.
The tempo and events increased with Futacs finding Milanov with a pass, and his shot from 21 meters went just wide of the post. Tajti curled a ball at goal at the other end from a free kick, which needed a good save from keeper Kovacsik. Vidi again saw more of the ball but it was the home team that went ahead for the second time: Szabo played in Markvart, who hit a ball from distance and his low shot settled in the corner of the net (2-1).
Nego sent his curling left footed shot from 14 meters at goal, but it came off the leg of Karan and went out for a corner. Huszti curled his free kick on 84 minutes over the bar. Then DVTK were reduced to 10 men when Szabo picked up his second booking to see red. There was still time for another Huszti free kick after 89 minutes but again it went over the bar.
Vidi suffered a 2-1 defeat in Miskolc and will take on MTK next week at the MOL Arena Sosto.
