The two managers spoke about the match shortly after the final whistle.
Marko Nikolic:
I would like to congratulate my team for winning the game without conceding a goal in our first competitive match of the season. I would not say that it is a great result, but rather describe it as being OK with a 2-0 win. We missed several chances and also failed to score from the penalty. We could have settled the game earlier, but this is still not a bad result to take into the second leg. I would like to say thank you to the supporters who backed us. The first match is never an easy one whoever your playing. We were a little bit nervous and you could feel this in the air. This created some mistakes, which we must not repeat in the future. I am sure that we can play better than we did today."
Marko Micsovics:
A manager cannot be satisfied when his side loses. Naturally I am not pleased with the result. At the same time there were parts of our game that I was satisfied with. It was a great pity that we conceded the second goal in the final minute. Looking at things realistically, Vidi were the favourites in the game. Things will not be any easier in Malta, but we will try and surprise our opponents on our home pitch. We all know that it will be very hard to go through against the Hungarian side.
