Videoton are in Europa League Q1 action on Thursday with a match against Balzan FC.
A press conference was held on Wednesday afternoon at the Novotel in Szekesfehervar. Manager Marko Nikolic and captain Roland Juhasz were present to talk with the media. Marko Nikolic started in good Hungarian and then switched to focus on the Europa League Q1 match with Balzan FC.
He explained that football today in Malta is nothing like it was 15-20 years ago. There are no amateur sides within the first division in Malta. There are several foreign players within the squad of Thursday's opponents. We will be respecting them and taking the game seriously, which will kick off at 20.45pm. He is satisfied with the pre-season period and the team are very motivated ahead of the new season.
Vidi team captain Roland Juhasz also spoke about how short the summer break had been, but that there is a fresh mentality following the appointment of the new coaching team and the work carried out. He hopes that other Hungarian sides will also do well in Europe competition.
A good natured training session then took place at the Sostoi stadium at 19:00pm and the players are ready for Thursday evening's game at the Pancho Arena.
