Kisvarda have made an impressive start to the new season and currently sit in fourth place.
Kisvarda picked up 31 points from 19 games in 2019 to climb away from relegation. They had collected 16 points from 18 games over the autumn. Director of Football Attila Revesz strengthened the team during the winter with three signings and rotated and that played a part in them avoiding the drop. The new 2019/20 season has started with 9 points from 4 matches, which represents a very good beginning. They have beaten Paks, Honved and most recently Ujpest.
They swapped Zoltan Horvath for Patrik Tischler during the summer and Romanian international player Grozav saw his fellow national Claudiu Bumba join, who has represented his country 3 times. However, he has so far only sat on the subs bench. Other players to leave on top of Horvath were Vari and Ilic, who asked to leave. Grozav has played a key part in both the spring and summer success. He is currently neck and neck with Marko Futacs as leading goalscorer with 5 goals from 4 matches. He also has one assist to his name. Protic, Lucas, Berios and Melnyk have played in all of the 4 games. InStat naturally places Grozav as the best and he made it into the team of the week for both match 3 and 4. The latter saw his as the best player and he currently has the highest average with 310. Kravchenko is next up with 271 while keeper Felipe is third on 266. The Kisvarda squad includes players that have in the past been with Vidi apart from their manager Laszlo Miriuta (who was with us back in 1996).
There are three players with Vidi connections: Andras Gosztonyi who was with us between 2010 and 2012 and was part of the title winning team as well as a runner-up, Super Cup and League Cup winner and also a Hungarian Cup finalist. Patrik Tischler helped Vidi to second place in the spring of 2016 while Illes Zoldesi was third choice keeper her in season 2016-17.
